Ok when Jon kills Kate I think that the DA in Pennsylvania will watch episodes of the first season of this show and then decide that
1) it was justifiable homicide and
2) that Jon deserves a medal of courage for putting up with with tantrums that Kate throws over minor crap that in turn trigger the 8 children to throw tantrum as well and finally that
3) Jon is a wiener and should have stayed single.
And TLC/Discovery Channel needs to stop throwing money at these families and show us the reality of making the decision to have sextuplets after having twins and only having one working parent. They would not be able to afford all of those vacations and their house, and $800 in fresh cut organic meat each month and $2,000 in grocery and endless clothing and for Kate to get her hair frosted every two weeks.
Then there's my favorite family the Roloffs - they went from nearly losing the farm the first season and Amy working multiple jobs and ordering Matt to go back to his job at a computer company to multiple vacations one in Hawaii and one in the Caribbean, plus they added a whole mess of attractions to their farm and added on to their mortgaged home and just got a pool and more cars and more material things and yes people are traveling to visit their farm but people are cheap. Once again I think Discovery Channel/TLC is giving them big bucks and inflating their lifestyle and expecting us to buy that this family went poor to rich from recreational soccer and Matt's half done concepts.
The love the Roloff's but come on they used to be real people now it's as real as The Real World. Whatever money TLC/Discovery channel pays these families should be a small stipend plus setting up trusts/college funds for the children on these shows. They shouldn't be sending the families to Hawaii or Disney World and then not clearly stating that every aspect of the trip airfare, luxury hotel, excursion etc were paid for by TLC/Discovery channel. Have you noticed that every time they're interviewed, she's turned away from him? I understand that raising 8 children will fry anyone's brain but you can still throw in a "please" or "thank-you" from time to time. She treats Jon with such blatant disrespect; what is she teaching her children? The fact that all the sextuplets hit and bite each other says a lot. And on top of this, she talks to church groups - they have a schedule on their (her)homepage. She demonstrates what is to me the most unChristian behaviour possible. It's all about her. The day Jon told her to "take the stick out" I stood up and cheered. Poor, poor Kate. The saddest part is that I have never seen her have any fun with her children. She is so busy directing/orchestrating everything they do in order to keep with HER schedule that she is missing what should be the most amazing experience of her life. She make it look like nothing more than a tiresome, tedious, thankless job.
And one other thing - when people ask if they planned to have this many - the answer is YES. They knew how many embryoes and therefore possible children they would end up with when they decided to use infertility procedures. Maybe Jon got left out of that loop.
